state required on international

is there a way to not have the state required on international billing/shipping address on the checkout?

Every country has a state and therefore it is required to have that there, as per the terms of our shippers.

how about spelling out the country code instead of the abbreviation.

the DHL shipping option was giving a no shipping option error when entering certain states of countries. We are working with 3dcart support to try to see if DHL API can be fixed.
The other international shipping methods were giving 2x-3x times the prices.
example DHL $50.10 UPS Worldwide $130.16

and the DHL would give errors to the customers many times until I figured out for customers to put the state value in with the city and put "none" in the state field.

pleeeeze remove the AL from the state field when someone chooses international. about 80% of international orders have AL in the addy.

and yes, spell out the country so it matches dazzle software requirements. 2 letters is not enough

funny. We also ship to Alabama quite a bit... Alabama, Spain... Alabama, Argentina... Alabama, Mexico

I also agree with the issue about the default state. Mine comes up as AA (the state code for US Arm Forces Asia) not Alabama all the time. The state box should reset to blank when the country is changed or something.
