Default Availability

Is there a setting to turn this off? I've seen the setting for what text goes there, but I'd like to not have the heading. Possible or do I just remove it from the templates? I still want to track inventory, just don't want it seen by the customer. thanks,

It works directly with the Inventory Control. I guess the easiest option is to remove the "availability" block from the template. But you can also keep it and modify the text from SETTINGS > DESIGN > STORE LANGUAGE to say something like "Ships in 24 hours" or to say just "In Stock" even when it's not.

You can actually leave these text fields blank. I only wanted my product availability to show when the product is out of stock, so I left the in stock text field blank and then customized the 'out of stock' field.

Pretty handy feature:
I changed the header to read "Ship Date"
and in stock to read "1-2 days"
and out of stock to read "7-10 days"
Those are the time frames that work for me.

Yea, I'm really glad Jimmy posted that idea before I removed it from the template!

Just an update to this for anyone else who wants to implement it. This didn't quite work for me. I had to uncheck "out of stock" and check "allow back order" in store settings. With "out of stock" checked any product with a qty of 0 does not show up in the category. Now I have changed the text for "back order" to read 7-10 days and it works fine.
