Multiple Ship to Address Feature and Shipping Charges

Hello everyone,

I've been wanting to turn on the Multiple Ship To Address feature, but I'm not sure how 3dcart handles the shipping cost for an order.

Is anyone currently using this feature and could offer some advice and input?

My shipping costs are based on the total amount of a customer's order. So if I used the Multiple ship to address feature - let's say a customer orders 3 items all shipping to different addresses. Would the cart add shipping charges based on the total amount of the entire order? Or would it calculate shipping for each individual order (per shipping address) within the larger overall order?

The Multiple Ship To Address feature would be great to turn on for holiday shopping. But I would just like to understand more about how the shipping charges work before trying it.

Any help (or suggestions) would be greatly appreciated.
