My customers and I aren't getting order confirmations since last evening.
The only way I knew I had orders was from my credit card processor. I had a couple sales at 2:00pm yesterday and the email arrived around 8:45am this morning.

Same here - things seem to be moving now though. I sent an email last night around 8:30 and it just arrived at 10:00 am - 14 hours later. But I've done some other things this morning where the email responded immediately - so seems to be working it's way out.

Mark,

If you feel this was unrelated to the email server delay we were experiencing yesterday, then please do not hesitate to open up a trouble ticket so we can assist you.

I wanted to address a few things:

We do understand that you may not see a lot of posts from 3dCart on the forum. We're trying to work on that and although we read everything that is posted here, we understand that more attention should be given to providing feedback and guidance here.

We have long instituted a policy wherein the forums are a place to discuss anything except for technical support issues. The reason why is quite evident in this thread, which contains people discussing 3 totally independent issues, which are:

1. Emails are not being accepted by comcast, roadrunner, etc. We have made a change on our mail server to bypass the limitations set forth by those providers and we have confirmed that it is working.

2. Spam is increasing, and customers are receiving a lot of spam reviews. This will not be corrected until the new version, where we have incorporated Captcha so that the spam bots will not be able to create reviews.

3. Mail has been delayed. We had a large mail que over the past couple of days, and we have worked tirelessly day and night in order to clear this que and install additional servers to take care of the current backlog. We will also be making changes to our spam filters to keep up with the higher levels of spam.

I work in the support staff and provide assistance to customers, as well as assist with SEO and Marketing for our clients. I realize that I never took the opportunity to introduce myself. So.. Hi

This forum is a great place to share knowledge, tips, ideas, praise, grief, etc, but the first thing you should do when you have a technical support issue, is to please, call us or submit a ticket at support.3dcart.com

Although we check the forums throughout the day, nothing you post will set off an alarm like the phone ringing or a ticket hitting out support que.

Going forward, if we see a post that is clearly a technical issue that needs to be addressed, we may close the thread, and create a ticket for the poster so that we can track and resolve the issue.

We're here for you. Use us.

Just an update.

When we opened the support ticket for the non receipt of emails, tech support made a few tweaks and it immediately corrected the issue. Good job.

As for the delay on emails, it seemed to just be temporary like tech support said it would be.

As for spam, the 3dcart system is so much an improvement from what we had before. Before we had a 'monster" of a problem, receiving up to a thousand junk mails a day. Since the change over to 3dcart mail we had 16 come to us on the 8th. Major improvement.

I am with Kildare on the roll of the forums as well as the roll of tech support. i try to come to the forums first to see if there is a fix on my end that i can do, design ideas, and just to bounce ideas off. From setting up analytics, live cart etc, the forums have been all i needed and I found immediate answers. i didn't need immediate or urgent help and learned alot in the process and discovered unrelated features of 3dcart along the way.

With this email issue. I wasn't sure if it was settings on our end, or if I should talk to our ISP, or try to go to internet service providers ourselves. I came to the forums, found another that had the same issue and after talking back and forth with cekman and kildare it seemed I needed to go to tech support, which was the correct option at that time.

Ditto on all of this- never seen so much of it in 6 years selling online.

Not sure if we have the email delay issue or not. We basically had to set up a different email account because we cannot send mail via 3d servers. We can receive, but not send. 3D has declared me crazy on this despite having an external company spend thousands of dollars and countless hours on it.

The spam, though, yeah.

Problems with the ability to receive but not send are usually 99.9% related to the fact that many ISPS block port 25, the simply solution is to use your ISP's SMTP server.

Troubleshooting this is easy.

If you open a telnet session (Start->Run, type cmd, then type telnet and press enter)

and type:

open mail.YOURDOMAIN.com 25

(this basically tells telnet to try to connect to your mail server)

If that fails, then your port 25 is being blocked.

If it works, (it says hello mail.yourdomain.com), then the problem is on the email software configuration.

Mine is working fine. Do get occasional spam's but not 100 a day as before.

Something happened and they block 3dcart connections.
