Default Shipping to Russia

Last month we started getting a lot of hits from Russia and it seems we got listed on the top Russian portal (yandex). They are now a top five referrer for us. Funny thing is, we currently do not ship to Russia. Does anyone have experience with selling to Russia or is it more trouble than its worth.

global express mail is not allowed to russia, haven't checked if global express guaranteed is allowed. we shipped several times recently via global priority mail with endicia insurance, no problems yet, but I have heard that it is a high risk country. haven't checked into the private carriers yet.

FAR more trouble than it's worth. Every single package we have shipped to Russia (USPS) has been lost/stolen/claimed-never-received. Fortunately, our insurance company picked up the loss, but that's it for us shipping to Russia. We looked into shipping UPS or Fedex, but it's something like >$100 for just a small letter...
