Wow!
So many of these features are big for us!
We're hoping that the Print Shipping Labels will go the distance and enable us to cancel a third party postage printing service we currently use. Hopefully it's seamlessly integrated with the new RMA feature, too? Allowing a return shipping label to be printed with RMA information, etc.
The improved phone order system is huge! Currently we just walk through the checkout procedure at our site while the customer is on the phone with us. Perhaps a single page or 2 page phone order system is what we'll end up with? Would love to know more about this one!
The waiting list/notify system is something we are currently manually doing ...ugh! This is a welcomed feature and hopefully can be set at the product level vs. a global inventory control setting?
The rewards/point program is also something that sounds very cool! Can't wait!
What about some type of inventory reporting integration with a Purchase Order creator. Integrate orders received (from manufacturers or distributors) with inventory as he order passes through receiving process. Ability to track back ordered items from distributors, etc. This would be a very useful feature!
Anyhow - can't wait for the next version to be released!

excellent point, printing shipping labels will be very nice, but RMA shipping labels even better! RMA already absorbs alot of resources to manage, so it would certainly be nice to streamline that process!

How about a feature that allows the customer to see how many quantities are actually in stock for each product. ie Notebook (4) Hand Towels (10)

You can accomplish this by putting the [stock] wherever you want the inventory quantity to show on your listing page. I don't think it's possible to do it on all pages, but i was able to do it on my listing.html page.
Support helped me figure out how to do this so you may consider opening a support ticket. I'd try to explain it further, but that's definitely not my strong suit

Don't forget the important ones
I am really pleased to hear about the new features that are coming to 3Dcart. I was sort of getting worried that development has slowed down, but instead it seems that the developers have been quiet about what they are up to.
My two cents:
1. Search engine / price comparison engine submission is critical. While it is often overlooked, I think it is probably one of the most important features of a shopping cart as you can drive traffic to your store with virtually no cost. I would like to see integrations with more services, and reliable and convenient submission. This is one of the areas that the % or revenue carts really focus on that I think is missed because most users do not recognize the value added.
I would also like to see a search campaign builder that takes a combination of keyworks from metadata and keyworks that you enter to form combinations that link to specific URLs for specific products....
2. I think that 3DCart is extending the scope of service that they provide, and I wish that they would focus on tight integrations with class-leading solutions such as Kayako Support Suite so that they could focus on just the features that should be provided by the cart such as comparison shopping integration, etc. In doing this with SEOM, it is the reason I chose 3DCart in the first place.
3. More and more merchants are using mutliple warehouses or drop-ship locations (or a combination of both). I would love to have the ability to specify multiple distribution locations for each product and allow 3dcart to automatically calculate and apply the option that would result in the lowest shipping cost. Ideally you would be able to specify multiple SKUs dependent on location and have them show up as one item in 3DCart - but this might be beyond any short-term scope.
4. I know this is outside of the scope for this release, but shopping cart systems that integrate with eBay are few and far-between - all the good ones use revenue share pricing models that cost far too much money. I am amazed that nobody has recognized the huge opportunity here. I would love to see a partial integration that works with a listing tool and offers a checkout redirect through 3DCart in order to upsell or cross-sell merchandise.
5. I wish that there were some really strong default templates. 3DCart looks OK, but not good, right out of the box. I never understand why content management systems don't spend the resources necessary to make a few examples of just how good a site can look. Consider how much value RocketTheme adds to Joomla because a theme can be installed instantly for less than $100 that looks better than 98% of the sites out there. IMHO, it is the reason that Joomla is successful relative to the Drupal or ExpressionEngine, which I think are better CMSs.
All that said, I am always amazed at the great work being done by this small company. Keep up the good work! I look forward to the update.

Have you thought about a who's online feature like what OSCommerce uses? It does help me to see any issues that might arise in my stores.
You can see in real time when a user is on your site, what pages they hit and if they dump things in the cart...even all the way through checkout.

also, inventory reports: right now i dont believe there is a way to view your inventory for items with multiple options.. aka Med Shirt X, Large Shirt X, and XL Shirt X.
As it is, inventory alerts are useless for me because it lacks that feature. or am i missing something?

review
Another suggestion:
Product Reviews ...
I would like to see customers be able to rate a review similar to amazon. Like a button that says "helpful or not". And then the reviews that were voted for as being most helpful would be displayed first.

Adding tracking, deleting/duplicating products
I have three suggestions that I can think of immediately.
1. the ability to add tracking numbers to the list of orders - when you click on orders and "new" (or in progress), it could have an updatable field to add tracking numbers without going into each order - for those that are done manually and not imported as a batch. I have seen this in other carts. Date would be updated also.
2. You can delete or duplicate from the view/edit product listing but I would like to be able to do this when viewing a particular product. Just add a delete and a duplicate button to the product page.
3. a pick list for all "new" or "in progress" orders showing items and pictures - I can make a picklist using orders-export but would like the pictures. I don't see a way to do this now.
