Maybe they should do those weekly updates and patches like one of the major operating system makers out there?

I just don't think a year between major updates is all that unusual.

I used to work for a major metrology company who made it policy to release two major upgrades to their flagship software each year. Wanna talk about a mess? As one of the engineers that had to support that software, I can't even begin to tell you how much pain was felt by both the support team and, more importantly, the end user.

I'll wait another year for a solid release if necessary. As it stands right now, 3dcart offers me an ecommerce solution that far exceeds the capabilities of those that attempt to compete with them.

OK. Putting my pompoms away now.

3dcart makes me feel that way, too, Fr_k. They really are far superior to any cart in their league, and I'd be happy to wait awhile for a release too. Well, except for the sales tax thing since WA changed the rules and I have to change my sales tax.

But keep taking your time to make sure it's right! I loved how all I noticed in the last release was the cool new features to play with.

Although I'm also happy with the current product, there are a few features that as they stand right now, make things a bit harder than necessary. For anyone who offers personalized products or products with multiple options, adding options (even with the template) can be a bit time-consuming and tedious. I'm really looking forward to the import options feature (among others). But also agree that releasing a well tested and bug-free product is important.

What releases are you folks talking about? As far as I know it's been 2006.

Now, let me state that I am satisfied with the product and have more than one subscription, but, let's face it, there hasn't been change in 2 years. So, me too, agree, a new release would be favorably recepted, at least by our team!

Yes! Yes! Yes! ScribeTime and I have similar product in our store and many of them require extensive personalization...the better "import options feature" is probably the one I'm looking forward to most.

While I agree that a stable release is the best option, this thread was started exactly 6 months ago. I'm pretty sure that much of the tech was already present at that time, or it wouldn't have been here on the boards.

I need to have this release down and implemented, with design changes, no later than 60 days from now, because that's when things go nuts. Will it be out soon?
