If I remember correctly, I once included html in the display text and encountered errors on the product page. I was told by tech support that it was because of the html. Things may be different now or updated so I would confirm this with them.
If what you're asking can't be done - could you just put "Request a quote" in the display text without html and then include a link on the product page to take the customer to a custom form to request a quote? Not sure how this would work. The customer may be forced to reenter product id or other information unless it could coded to automatically transfer the information.
Another idea: For some of our products offered in set quantities say from 25 -1000 cards, we have as an option in a drop-down box "Have representative contact me for a quote" in case a customer wants to order more than the 1000 cards. The quote request comes in as an order, but I get all of the contact information and product details. On the product page, there can be a text box for the quantity that the customer wishes to receive a quote for.
Hope that makes sense. I'm sure there's a better way - but this is what we've done.
