Default Delete Incomplete Orders

This is really bothersome that you cannot delete "not-Completed" orders. This is impossible to delete if they have added to cart and calculated shipping. Really irritating. Storing personal info of non-customers for four weeks needlessly. Security risk as well. Please add this to my wish list.

Mark,

The best way that I know how to delete the incomplete orders is:

1. Go to the orders category in the admin panel.

2. If you do not have any new orders in the "new" category, then click on it.

3. This will display your new orders page. Since you do not have any new orders pending you can just click on the "move selected" button at the bottom of the page. You don't have to select anything, just tell it to move selected.

4. This will display all of the orders that you have processed. Go to the last page in this list and you will see several orders with an order number of (0), these are the incomplete orders. Place a checkmark next to each one of the (0) orders and then delete. The status of each of the orders will be "not completed".

Hope this helps. This is the only way that I have found to delete the "not completed" orders that already have the shipping charges applied.

John

GREAT TIP JOHN! This is a prime example of something that would be perfect for the "Tips & Tricks" forum. Now I can delete all of my incomplete orders that were actually test I did myself. Thanks again!

Thanks!
That is a great tip, however, that really doesn't work for me. Too many incomplete orders. Scanalert puts thousands of incomplete orders in your cart on the initial scan and then each quarter. Since I can only list 100 orders per page, you can only delete 100 at a time. And the 0 orders sort by month, not by year, so, working your way to the end of the pages doesn't get you to the most recent orders. I have deleted about 10 pages of 100 so far, it takes time and is tedious, because each time you delete a page of orders you return back to the begining of search. Oh well, maybe over time I can get most of them deleted.
Anyway, thanks for finding that tip! How did you discover that one?

I've heard several other merchants complain about the large number of incomplete orders generated by ScanAlert. I use them as well and do notice a few incomplete orders here and there, but it's usually no more than 5-10 per day or so. I'm wondering what the difference is and if there is some "setting" that perhaps I have selected with them that keeps the number low. Or maybe it has something to do with order volume, number of products, etc... But have you talked with them about it to see what can be done? I agree that would be very frustrating and a good addition to the cart would be the ability to delete them.

I use Scan Alert and the my first couple months with 3dcart I was receiving thousands of incomplete orders due to Scan Alert. Then all of a sudden it stopped. Now I have no more than 100 incomplete orders at any given time. I don't know what changed. I assumed 3dcart did something.

Yes, me too. I received thousdands, about 8000 incompletes. I think the initial scan is more encompassing, perhaps, and the quarterly less so. That's all I can figure. But, it still leaves 80 pages of 100 incomplete orders in the file to sift through.

By just playing around with the system. I found it by accident, but it helped me out alot, so I thought it might help you too.
