Default Google and Webmaster Tools

When you use Google webmaster tools to verify your site, it asks you to place code in the <HEAD> tags.

This has never worked for me. I have asked for help, but didn't really get an answer with anything that worked. I fear this is helping us drop in the search engines.

Has anyone successfully done this?

Default Ok

Actually, I just got it. I used the file upload feature instead. Now i'm generating a sitemap.

As an aside, you can display sub-categories on your site....and the option to show only certain ones is available. Anyone know how this is controlled?

thanks
