Default https on home page can be fixed by 3d cart

I had the same problem with the home page pop-up window saying it had secure and non-secure items too. If you were on any other page on our site and clicked on the "home" link in the menu bar it would change to secure or https on the home page. To make a long story short, I submitted a ticket and Jimmy took care of it for me. I don't have the problem with it switching over to https when you go back to home page anymore. Now the only time it goes into secure mode is at checkout, like it should. Submit a ticket and they can fix it.

This isn't really the issue, and I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with 3dcart. I know what is causing the non-secure it is my Buzzboost/Feedburner feed. As far as I know there isn't a way to make it secure from their end. And up until I mentioned it, I wasn't seeing it mentioned anywhere else so wasn't sure if everyone who used Feedburner/BuzzBoost was having this or if I was just doing something wrong. It appears though others are having this issue, and as far as we know there is not a workaround.

whenever you see that you have secure/unsecure message, this is something that you did! but its usually easy to fix

first, you need to view the source code of the page. (ctrl+u in firefox)
then do a search for the following:

src="http:

if you find any results, you have to go into admin and make sure to change it to https

http = unsecure
https = secure

if you have any objects (images, javascript, etc) that is pulling from http, then you will get the error that parts of the page are not secure.

I use a service called Tumblr (www.tumblr.com) it allows you to completely customize the look. So i have made it look exactly like my site, with links along the top that take you back to the site. If you were not paying attention you might not realize your moving between two sites.

www.nmteaco.com and nmteaco.tumblr.com

Check it out.

The next step will be to create the subdomain so that blog.nmteaco.com forwards to the tumblr blog

Default Questions about Wordpress Blog

I recently created an account with Wordpress.com, requested the subdomain with 3dcart, and was ready to finally get this going until I visited Wordpress.org and then wondered if this is what I should be using.

Have those of you who've setup a Wordpress blog set it up using the free blog at Wordpress.com or dowloaded the software from Wordpress.org and created a blog from that? When I checked out the Wordpress.org site it said that the hosting provider must use PHP - which 3dcart does not, right?

It doesn't seem like setting up a blog should be that complicated, but for some reason I feel like I'm stumbling around in the dark.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated : )

We use the free version hosted by Wordpress. So if you have a domain of example.com then you would set up a sub-domain of blog.example.com (or whatever you want the sub-domain to be and then have whoever controls your DNS set up the sub-domain to resolve to the Wordpress blog. This way you don't need to set up any software or incur any real expense.

You can go one step further than just cross linking from your store to the blog and actually add dynamic content that would populate onto your store at 3DC. We use Feedburner for this which was recommended here in this forum by someone else. So on our site we constantly have the latest 5 post titles show up which are of course linked back to the blog.

Thanks Mueller for the info. The process you described is the path that we're presently taking. I was hoping that it wasn't Wordpress.org and downloadable software that everyone has been referring to. We got the blog subdomain today and will continue with what you and the others have recommended posting and using Feedburner to add content to our site.

Thanks again!
