1. Does 3dcart have the ability to email drop shipping companies when orders come in?

2. Can I update inventory amounts automatically somehow ie. I have an automated PHP script on my server someplace that can connect to my store and update inventory amounts nightly?

Hi Patrick,

1. Does 3dcart have the ability to email drop shipping companies when orders come in?

Yes you can setup drop shippers that get notified when an order comes in. You have full control over the layout of the email that is sent to them too, so you can customize if you want them to see pricing, and limit what kind of customer information they get.

2. Can I update inventory amounts automatically somehow ie. I have an automated PHP script on my server someplace that can connect to my store and update inventory amounts nightly?

Although the API does not have an "ADD product" method, it does have an Update Stock method, so you can use it to update your stock. The code is pretty simple if you ever used web services, essentially you call the service with ID and stock, and it will update it. There is also an update order status that you can use if you happen to manage your orders on another system, and want to synchronize the status.

We would like for dropshippers to see pricing (our cost) but this is not available with the distributor emails. We've tried to configure it, but the variables don't work in the emails. These variables are not available, so, if you use advanced options, you can't use the emails.

That's right, the information on the email is similar to the information a customer would get, and so, your cost, would never be an option to put on the email. You can remove things, or move things around, but the data will be the same.

However, these are the types of things that we can tweak on your account with custom programming. We can customize the software in any way to fit your needs, something other providers would never do.

Yes, you can specify a cost for each part, that cost is then saved with each order, (so that if the cost increases/decreases over time, it still tracks your cost accurately). There is 3 business reports, profit by Day, Month, and Order, that will show you the sold price vs your cost to easily and the total profit for that day/month/order.

We are currently moving one of our stores from volusion. How was your experience getting your traffic back to normal after moving. Did you do 301 redirects or did you custom page name your pages to be the same as your volusion pages?
