  • Send e-mail via my 3DCart SmarterMail account

    Not API, but I'm not sure where else to put this.

    I'm trying to send emails with smtp via SmarterMail from a stand alone WPF C# application to customers. When I run the code below, everything completes without error, but the e-mail is never sent. If I switch the credentials to my gmail account, the e-mail sends.

    This makes me think there is a setting in SmarterMail that is blocking my attempts to send an email. I am not having any luck finding such a setting.

    Any thoughts?

    string to = "[email protected]";
    string from = "[email protected]";
    string subject = "Test email for orders";
    string body = @"Using this new feature, you can send an e-mail message from an application very easily.";
    MailMessage message = new MailMessage(from, to, subject, body);
    SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient("mail.3dcartstores.com", 587);

    client.Timeout = 10000;
    client.DeliveryMethod = SmtpDeliveryMethod.Network;
    client.EnableSsl = true;
    client.UseDefaultCredentials = false;
    client.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential("[email protected] ", "password");

    try
    {
    client.Send(message);
    }
    catch (Exception ex)
    {
    MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
    }

    I turned off the spam filter associated with the mail account and now the mails go through. Gives me a starting point.
