  • Anyone using template V00014 on the new release?

Just curious. Most of the new features we were trying for most all day today are not working for us. Just curious if anyone out there using that template had any issues?

It looks like you are using an old version of the template.
I would suggest backing it up and installing the latest.

How can we get the latest copy of the frame file? There was not an updated file in the common folder.

What do you mean install the latest? That's the files that are in the template folder.

As we explained before, the upgrade does not touch your template. You can upgrade it by simply downloading it over yours. (go to the themes & style page, find the template on the available tab (left tab), and download it. It will prompt you that you already have it, choose to overwrite it, and there you go.

MAKE A BACKUP OF YOURS FIRST - Via ftp, in case you need to go back as support can't help you if you chose to overwrite the file and then want it back later.

Okay, exactly what does upgrading the "template" do?
In other words, overwriting the latest theme does that overwrite all the html files we changed, such as listing_x.html, checkout1.html, category.html, tracking.html, etc.....?

A template is just the file "frame.html" that's the only file it will overwrite.

Okay, thanks. Will all the css settings remain, such as the fonts, and sizes and such? :)

Sorry, i should have been more specific, the template includes:

                  frame.html
                  default.css (in css folder)
images folder with images for that template

                  Downloading it will overwrite those.

if you had made changes to any of these 3 files, you would need to re-apply those changes after you download the template.

Wow, I guess we'll just stay on our current version. :(
We've invested too much time getting our site like we wanted.

Good idea, no sense in fixing what's not broken.

But doesn't that mean that @Mark's site will not have the benefit of the new features in 3.2? There have been numerous posts from 3dCart that in order to take advantage of the new features, we must be using either a new 3.2 template or a reloaded/updated 3.0 template.

It looks like we should be okay since we are using the default_modified css file. We took a lot of time to get that file right, so, we made a backup of that. We intend to upgrade the frame.html file so we hope the modified css file will still work. :)

I'm not sure just what files need to be changed, or whatever. I know the frame file is the overall look and feel of the website, but, we've changed the listing_X, checkout1, tracking, recommendafriend, category_1, invoice_print, listing_X, notify, affiliate, search, registration, account, search_group, etc. So, we really don't know if these need updating or not.

I'll be staying tuned to this thread and hopefully 3dCart will weigh in on the situation because it sounds like there's still a lot of confusion out there BESIDES ours!
