I'm just getting into social media with my store. I could use a boost in the "Like". I will "Like" you too!

That six likes for you now Celebra. It's amazing to me how FB could make so many apps and so much money wasting our time LOL FB can be addicting if you have interaction like I do on my main page and not my P4M "page" page LOL

I grew my fanpage to almost 500 people in a pretty short period of time with a bunch of giveaways but it petered out. So im holding off until my page redesign goes through and I will resume the giveaways with daily youtube vids promoting the items im giving away. I did also get some sales that were directly related from Fanpage activity.

                        Social Media Dilemma

                        Toobusy,

My main problem is that my audience are more "upscale" and most don't have an active involvement in social media! You have an audience of avid re-builders of Mopar cars, of which I've had several. You would have drooled over my '68 Dodge Charger RT 426 hemi that was sold with 25,000 original miles - went to a collector. It is was one-of-a-kind custom factory order - "butterscotch" color with black roof, no stripe.

But I digress...Google/SE want us to have a social media presence. They EXPECT it, even when we don't have an audience that wants to participate! They treat it like it's a popularity contest. I really don't like the game. I'm hoping the forum members will help boost each other up in this social media game and "Like" each other. We certainly don't want to feel that nobody "Likes" us!

social media is one of those odd things where it seems if they dont get something free they dont want to participate. I've built our base mostly off friends and people we know.

My other pages I've grown to over 1000 people within a year or so.... mostly because the target market for using them is all based off the internet generation which makes it a lot easier.

I saw no digression LOL You know I'm still amazed daily by the numbers of people who do not have computers, do not want computers, you can't email them, can't send them information unless they have a computer literate friend, etc. Makes you want to yell

                            Can you hemi now???? ;)

The current generation grew up with computers. They are not my main audience. I can't change that. My audience has $$$ and better things to do with their time...like make more $$$. I work with wedding planners, event specialists, nightclubs, the upwardly mobile.... and older people.

Yes, I can hemi now if I want. Part of the deal in selling the car was that I get to drive it whenever I'm "in the neighborhood" - about 600 miles away... People still ask me about that car! :)
