  • How long is site usually down when upgrade to new version?

    Without warning I am being upgraded to the new version. While this is a good thing - I wasn't aware of it and just announced a huge sale to 2,500 of my customers.

    Now my site is down.

    I'm just wondering how long it is normally down for when they do a version change?

    I can log into Admin - and that seems to be working - but I have 18 sales already and was hoping for at least 18 more.

    I really wish I had been told this would happen, I so wanted the change to be a happy smooth one.

    If you have any input on how long it took for your site that would be much appreciated.

    OK - just came back up - if it doesn't go down again then that will be a pretty short time. Just bad timing with the sale.

    I am looking forward to trying the new features when yearend settles down.

      When they did ours, it was less than 5-10 minutes that I couldn't access the admin panel and the site itself was offline less than that.

        Yes - you're right - it just completely caught me off guard and customers were emailing me. It came back up in less than 15 minutes.

        Support says they sent an email out but I either didn't get it or missed it. I need to find out if the email had any instructions in it I was supposed to follow.

          The downtime was short, but I learned to use the new features such as rewards, wish list, and gift registry, I had to switch to the new 3.0 template instead of using the ones from the previous version.

          Something to know If you wanna use those new features.

            THanks I didn't know that. Hopefully that will be easy to do.

            Right now I'm having trouble with none of my promotions working - but I have a ticket in on that.
