  • Where do I edit the rates table

    Does anyone know where I edit the rates table that generates on the one-page checkout:

    http://www.msummers.com/mikesstuff/3dc_editrates.gif

    right on the checkout-singlepage.html file I can edit the button, the instructions before the rates show, and the general box, but I can't find where to edit what's highlighted in that box.

    I need to add some spacing, bold the amount, etc.

    Thanks!

    You could check 1page_checkout.html and checkout-step4.html

    Way back when, I heard that parts of step4 were used in conjuntion with single-page. Not sure if that's true anymore.

      Thanks for the reply. Not seeing any difference when I edit those. What's strange is I can edit the words "Display Rates" right there in the checkout-singlepage.html page I'm working on. It even appears as if I'd be able to add spacing, but it's just not picking it up.

      For example, I go from this:
      Code:
      <!--START: displayblock-->
      <tr>
      <td colspan="3"><div align="left"><img src="assets/templates/common/images/[OPTION-SHIPPER].gif"></div></td>
      <td colspan="2" align="right"><a href="javascript:click_ship();" onClick="controlDivShipping('[OPTION-SHIPPER]');">&raquo;Display Rates</a></td>
      </tr>
      <!--END: displayblock-->
      to this:
      Code:
      <!--START: displayblock-->
      <TR><TD COLSPAN="5"><img src="assets/templates/common/images/spacer.gif" width="1" height="3"></TD></TR>
      <tr>
      <td colspan="3"><div align="left"><img src="assets/templates/common/images/[OPTION-SHIPPER].gif"></div></td>
      <td colspan="2" align="right"><a href="javascript:click_ship();" onClick="controlDivShipping('[OPTION-SHIPPER]');">&raquo;Display Rates</a></td>
      </tr>
      <TR><TD COLSPAN="5"><img src="assets/templates/common/images/spacer.gif" width="1" height="3"></TD></TR>
      		<!--END: displayblock-->
      ...and it makes no difference.

      I can't even see where those vertical lines between the shipping methods are coming from in the code.

      Any other thoughts?

          I wish. I have people calling me up confused, and I think I could definitely make this table more clear if I could edit it.

          I'll post here if I ever figure it out. Anyone else, please do the same.

                I had written to support and explained that I'd like to be able to change the formatting for the "display rates" area of the shipping table because the text (at least in IE, it's less obnoxious in Firefox) is gi-normous! Here's what I got:

                I apologize that you are having problems with the display rates for shipping on single page checkout. The only thing I can suggest is that you write an inline style to overwrite the CSS on the site, if that text is coming out larger then what you would like it would be due to that style being used elsewhere and changing the style will effect other locations as well.
                :confused:

                What the heck is an "inline style"? Oy.

                  An inline style is where you specify a CSS style code in the HTML itself.

                      I'm such a dork. Sorry, maksum...I somehow missed your post about being able to edit the "display rates" text but that you were trying to access the other parts of the code block as well. :o

                      I fixed my "display rates" text and am also trying to get to that ugly area with the "SHIPPING OPTIONS" and bars. I'm going to reopen my ticket and hopefully, get some info on this area.

                        Okay, I asked Support about the ability to edit or access the design aspects of the shipping block in single page checkout, and here was the response I received:

                        Some of that formatting might now be editable, everything in the template are things that are editable anything beyond that might be out of our control unfortunately.
                        So, it looks like this area is not accessible at this point, since we were unable to find any way to affect how the code displays despite efforts to do otherwise. :(
