  • Link to PDF Document?

    Anyone here know of a way to link to a PDF document on a product page?

    I'm trying to get a PDF document to pop-up in a new window when a user clicks on a link, but I'm just not sure how to go about linking the document correctly.

    Is this something I can do within ftp?

    Please describe process if you've done something like this before.

    Thanks for your help!

    Upload the PDF to your default images folder and then create a link to point to the pdf.

    Something like this:

    <a href="assets/images/default/Report.pdf" target="_blank">

      You can also use a pdf icon and link to your pdf from that as well. See attached pdf icon.

      http://www.scpbooks.com/assets/images/Misc/pdf_icon.gif

      The code would look like the following IF your icon and pdf document were uploaded to the images folder.

      <a target="_blank" href="assets/images/Report.pdf"><img border="0"
      src="assets/images/pdf_icon.gif"
      width="50" height="50"></a>

        We use extra_field_6 for all our documentation links and format html using unordered list tags <ul> and <li>
        Code:
        <ul>
         <li><a href='http://www.mysite.com/myPDF1.pdf'>Quick Guide</a></li> <br/>
         <li><a href='http://www.mysite.com/myPDF2.pdf'>Data Sheet</a></li> <br/>
         <li><a href='http://www.mysite.com/myPDF3.pdf'>Specs using ViconNet 5</a></li> <br/>
        </ul>
