  • Disable AK and HI

Is there a way to remove Alaska and Hawaii from checkout? Specifically the Shippping To section? Occasionaly we have customers complete checkout shipping to AK or HI and we don't ship items there since we only ship via ground carrier.

Settings -> Shipping -> Shipping Countries -> United Stated (click "Check States)

You can disable them from there.

      Thanks,

But that doesn't work. The states still show up in checout. At least one-page chackout. Anyone know how to disable them, just from shipping, not from billing. I don't think it's possible, but, anyone?

UPDATE: Merely "unchecking" the states in the ship to country does nothing. You have to actually remove the states from the list. However, removing from "shipping" also removes from the billing as well, since, apparently they use the same list. Although very rare, we would like to sell to those in Alaska and Hawaii, just not ship to those areas.

Who is your carrier? UPS offers a "ground" service to both Alaska and Hawaii (this is relatively new) which is obviously not literally ground. You can check their website - it is a 3 day service.

UPS. AK & HI are zone 10 for us. 3 to 4 times the amount for shipping to California.
Customers would just complain about the high shipping costs so we don't even offer it. A 45-50 lbs package is over $180. :(
