  • You Tube Issue

tried the You Tube setting in a product listing that I already have on my web site. Could only get it to work as link in the description not embedded through the software. Anyone else tried this since the upgrade?

Someone else had a similar issue. Read the thread here and see if their solution works for you. :)

I think your product listing templates might have been transferred over from 3.1 instead of favoring the updated 3.2 templates.

To check if this is the case, go to Settings =>Design =>Themes & Styles, where you'd normally select a theme. When you get there, click on "Edit Template (HTML)" to see the templates specific to your site. If you see a listing_x.html (with "x" being a number 0 to 3 depending on your selected styles) then your listing templates will likely need updating.

(Normally, the listing templates are pulled from the common folder and wouldn't be listed with your theme - unless you have some customizations on them - in which case they'd be copied to your theme folder.)

The updated templates have code specific to the YouTube video displays, so your specific templates may just need this code added. Have a look at this KB article for the specific code that needs to be added.

As an alternative, you can FTP into your account and remove the listing_x.html templates from your theme folder so the store favors the updated templates from the common folder. However, I'd first suggest the KB article as this alternate method will remove any possible customizations you may already have on those templates.

thanks for that but that is way beyond anything I care to try with my store page. I will continue to work around it
