  • All Reviews page?

    Is it possible to creat a page with ALL customer reviews, or, a limited number of reviews?
    We would like to set one up as a sort of "testimonials" page, where many random product reviews are all gathered on one page.
    Thanks in advance! :)

    I think that the only way you could do that would be to create a custom page and manually add the text. You could also include a link to the product. It might be useful to use the datafeed function like you would with something like Terms and Conditions.

    As far as I've been able to see, there is no built in functionality for this. You might be able to have it custom programmed, but otherwise I think you are going to have to do it manually.

      We added a page and use the database function for each testimonial. A small amount of the testimonial is listed, and the customer can click to get the complete review and a link to the product:

      http://www.veilshop.com/estimonials_ep_35-1.html

      Much easier to used the database feed than to try and add each one manually to a single page.

        That's perfect! :D
        Any other tips on setting that up, or, is it pretty straigtforward.
        Thanks in advance! :)

          Trust me, if I can do it, it's gotta be easy! :)

          Just create the page and click the box to use the database feed. This tutorial helped me:

          Good luck! :)

            Thanks,
            So, you add the reviews manually, each one, as a separate article? :confused:

              Yep, that's how we do it.

                okay, thanks for your help. That's really appreciated! :)
                I assume there is no way to automate the reviews populating the testimonials page? :confused:
                Thanks in advance! :)

                  Well, technically, you could as long as you are just wanting to present them to the customer and not worried about the search engines.

                  You could probably using some AJAX to pull in the data and display it on the page. You would have to download the reviews though or pull them out of the database. Then, you could go through that info and post it to the page.

                  However, I'm pretty sure that isn't what you are getting at.

                    Wow--must be nice to be getting that many! :) We used to get a lot of them each week, now they just trickle in every few months or so, despite the fact that many of our customers have found us via word of mouth.

                      we have been using the "follow-up" automated email and it is producing results. It would be nice if the reviews could auto-populate a page. :)

                        A quick thanks goes out to RRW for the tip on using the database feed on our product reviews page. Please provide feedback on our page. http://www.concession-supply.com/Pro..._ep_167-1.html
                        It's a work in progress and we have addded several of our actual customer reviews. We would like a little help in the layout, however. We would like to move the product image to the left and a new column to the right of the image to list the ratings and reviews. Could someone help with that? :)
                        Although it is quite tedious to enter these manually, we do like the result.
                        Here's the snippet of display code for the product rating:
                        Code:
                        <tr>
                        		<td class="data">[content]</td>
                        	</tr>
                        	<tr>
                        		<td><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%">
                        				<!--START: feedblock-->
                        				<tr>
                        					<td><table cellpadding="4" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%" class="data">
                        							<tr class="titles">
                        								<td align="left">[feed_title]</td>
                        								<td align="right"> [feed_created]<!--  by -->
                        									<!--START: feed_author-->
                        									<!-- [feed_author] -->
                        									<!--END: feed_author--></td>
                        							</tr>
                        							<!-- <tr>

                          We're thinking of offering an incentive for reviews. Maybe a coupon code, gift certs, or reward points.

                            We offer a coupon code in our followup product review emails and also in our side banner. Works quite well!

                              We got the images to link back to the product page and made some further enhancements. :D
                              We really like the result, but, sure wish there was a way to automate this. Would sure be a great feature on subsequent release....:)
