  • No payment required for one item only.

We have a printed catalog that customers can order on our website for free. We have created on item in 3DCart called CATALOG and gave it a price of $0.00 and Free Shipping, but it still doesn't allow you to checkout with a balance of $0.00.

The Paypal option still remains shown, but the Authorize.net doesn't show up at all. Is there a trick to doing this?

You need to create an offline payment method for this. Under Settings>Payments>Offline Methods, you can create a custom offline checkout method. For example, we allow customers to mail a check, or to complete their order on the website but phone in their credit card info, so we have a Mailing Check payment method, as well as a Phone in Credit Card method. In your case, just create an offline method called Catalog Request or similar.

      Thanks Brass.

Only problem with that is that some customers will end up selecting that form of payment for regular orders and that will create a mess.

I guess we'll have to just create a custom Form where people can fill out their info and we'll get it as an email. It would be nice to receive these Catalog requests as orders so they get downloaded into StoneEdge and processed automatically to our shipping department.

Actually no, it is very easy to limit this to catalog requests only. All you need to do is make the required maximum order dollar amount $0, so if there is anything with a price above $0 in the cart they cannot use that option to checkout.

No problem. That's what makes the forum so great - usually there is someone who has an answer.
