  • modify "email a friend" and "review this item" templates

    Hello all,

do we have access to the "email a friend" and "review this item" templates? I just noticed that the templates are using the dark background gradient from my website, which makes the dark grey text pretty much unreadable. I either want to remove the background or change the text to a lighter color. Anyone?

    Thanks!

Don't use and couldn't find the review but I think the email a friend template you want is "recommendafriend" If there the same colors they probably use the same classes so changing the colors for one may fix both.

    Try product_review_new for the other

      Thanks Mondo,

I couldn't find the "recommendafriend" template...where does that live?

I discovered which class both are using - "price-info". I would love to be able to write my own class and apply it, but I don't seem to have access anywhere. Moderators - help? :D

The reccomendafriend template is in the "common" template folder.

The template for the review item page is coded within the listing template that you are using for that item.

The recomendafriend template is in the "common" template folder.
In admin to get to the common templates.
          settings/Design/Template editor

Once you do some changes on it it will then show up in setting/design/themes and styles in your template with your frame and stuff.

Some of the review code is in the listing template but after looking I think your going to need to go into the review_new for BG and fonts inside the code block and yes it's priceinfo

Review new is in common templates too.

Thanks for the input folks! I downloaded the "recommendafriend.html" template and opened it up in notepad. I don't see where to edit the code to prevent the template from using the background of my site. Any code gurus that can point me in the right direction? :D

            ***EDIT***
I found the proper html files and was able to edit them as I wanted by creating and pointing to another class. I couldn't have done it without your input guys, thanks!

Even though I know you can revert but I'm Mr. careful from experience on another site.

If I was going to do it I'd first save the original in notepad.

In the style sheet create your new style 'price-info2' I'd just copy price-info class paste it in right after, add the 2 to the name then change the colors and save.

Go to your saved template code in notepad and click edit/replace

              replace: price-info

              replace with: price-info2

              replace all

that will change all at once. No need to save but if you save it save it as a different name

copy and paste the new code into your template, save, clear cache and review.
