  • Hide Extra Field

    I'd like to use an extra field for the Froogle Base Product Type Attributes.

    How do I hide the field so that it doesn't show up with the product?

    You can comment out the Extra_Field in the listing template....
    I don't cut out code, just inncase I want to put it back in....
    <!-- code to be commented out --> works for me.

      Thank you. Am I adding the code incorrectly?

      <!--comment out code for extra_field_4-->
      <!--START: extra_field_4-->
      <tr>
      <!--comment out code for extra_field_4--> <td><div class="item"><strong>[product_extrafield4]</strong> [extra_field_4]</div></td>
      </tr>
      <!--END: extra_field_4-->

      When I enter text in field 4 on the product page, it is displaying on the live product page.

        Just put a "<!--" before the "<td><div class="item"><strong>[product_extrafield4]</strong> [extra_field_4]</div></td>" and then a "-->" at the end.

          Eh, I'd include those <tr> and </tr> tags within the commented out section, otherwise you'll probably have some funky layout issues because you've commented out the table cell from within the table row which isn't good. Just do your code like this:

          Code:
          <!--comment out code for extra_field_4-->
          <!--START: extra_field_4-->
          <!--
          <tr>
          <td><div class="item"><strong>[product_extrafield4]</strong> [extra_field_4]</div></td>
          </tr>
          -->
          <!--END: extra_field_4-->

            Thank you! That worked perfectly.
