  • Landing Page best practice

    Hi All

Looking to add some landing pages for adwords, coupon sites, newsletter, product info and the like.

Anyway All the URLs here at 3dcart are in the root folder. (/newpage.html)
Would like to create landing pages in a folder structure (/promo/newpage.html) so we can disallow /promo in the robots.txt to prevent duplicate content.

Can this be done the 3dcart way or do I need to create and ftp?
The custom file name comes to mind but would the original page be in the site map and bypass my disallow?

Any solid ideas on this concept?

OK lets start this from another direction.

Can We use a dynamic page from a folder created outside of 3dcart or must the page be created from within?

How does 3dcart expect us to create landing pages?

You can create a static page in sub directories and should not have a problem loading
      i.e. www.yourdomain.com/subdirectory/somepage.html
But, I am not sure if the data is available to be displayed dynamically out side of the frame.html

Am hopping to go dynamic. So template changes stay consistent.
Don't want to update or disallow several hundred pages.

Does 3dcart have an answer for landing pages?

Seems the way our templates and the asp files work all pages related to 3dcart must be made from within.

So in answer on how to code landing pages. You can use the following code:
            Code:
            <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW">
Much better solution then disallow per page in the robots.txt

            Rock On!
