  • ADD TO CART button problem

We have had 3 customers over the past 3 weeks email us saying when they click the 'add to cart' button that it brings them to the cart page and the error message 'your cart is empty' pops up.

I know it is only 3, but it's hard to ignore since I can't remember when the last time a customer has emailed us with this problem. Just curious if anyone else has heard of this problem or if it is unique to our store.

    Thanks!

    Rob

I think this thread deals with the same problem you're having? I knew I'd read it a few days earlier, took me awhile to find it but this might relate?

      Hi Rob,

I'm going to look into this for you! I just emailed you back looking to see if you have any details on that last not completed order. Get back to me as soon as you can! :)

Yesterday morning we experienced this in-house. The problem was discover shortly after 7am and then the 'add to cart' button started working again by 7:30. While we could not add items to the shopping cart in FF, we could add them in Chrome.

We created a JING and I sent this over to 3dcart. Very, very weird and obviously very concerning.

No changes were being made on the site at that time. We tested this problem on multiple listing templates with the same result.

I would not have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. Does anyone have any idea how the 'add to cart' button could lose functionality?

        Thanks!

        Rob

          Hi TooBusy,

Thanks for looking this up. I am not sure if they are related. 3dcart might know this and hopefully it would help with solving the issue.

          Thanks!

No problem Rob. I've had a couple calls from customers where they say the cart shows empty as well, but I can't find any rhyme or reason to it. It's not consistent and I've seen screenshots but cant replicate it on my end.

We had a problem recently with adding an option to the cart and it not including the extra dollar amount. 3D Fixed the problem, stating it had something to do with the " (inch) sign.

I've been having this issue as well...I was told by phone support that they had replicated the error and put a priority on fixing it. I would be contacted within 4-24 hours...that was 4 days ago and now I have been going back and forth with email support "what products do you want me to test" How about all of them?

Still not working, I've tested all browers and all products get the "there are no products in your cart" when pressing the add to cart button.

Has anyone else had this issue resolved?

Sorry to vent but I'm pretty tired of 3D cart telling me it's something wrong on my end when I've been told by other support it is 3D cart and they will have a solution right away.
Maybe it's time to head back to Volusion.

I was messing around day before yesterday with my site and was getting the same thing when attempting to add a product to the cart...there are no items in your cart. It did it with FF and with Chrome. Don't know why it's doing it but it wasn't on the mobile end, where I expect problems. I tried different products with the same results several times during the day. I keep taking phone orders when people have problems.
