  • Display manufacturer on product page

    Has anyone tried to display the manufacturer of a product on a product page? I thought it would be as easy as adding [manufacturer] to my listing_0.html template, but it only gives me the database ID, not the actual name of the manufacturer.

    Thanks.

            We used the manufacturer_name and similarly titled filefolders to display the manufacturer's logo in our product description. Hope this helps.

              I have successfully added display of manufacturer name to my product listing page, but would like to take it one step further.

              I would like that manufacturer name to be a link to the same page you end up on if you select that manufacturer from the Brand dropdown in left nav bar.

              I have looked at the code for the Brand dropdown, but that didn't seem to be what I need. Has anyone else done this?

              Thanks,
              Sue

                Yes, here is the link I use on my product page:

                Code:
                <strong>Manufacturer:&nbsp;<a href="/[manufacturer_name]_bymfg_[manufacturer]-1-1.html">
                				<span itemprop="manufacturer">[manufacturer_name]</span></a></strong>

                    Is there a variable that has manufacturers with hyphens for manufacturers who have multiple words in their name?

                      You can use just:

                      HTML Code:
                      href="/_bymfg_[manufacturer]-1-1.html"
                      The code 3dcart uses ignores everything before the first underscore.

                      If you have SEO concerns, you can create a redirect and send it to the fully defined name.
