  • UPS dimensional weight

With UPS (and FedEx) switching to dimensional weight, has there been anything done to correct a product's dimensions not being used when multiple items are in the cart?

I understand that there are a LOT of variables that go into packaging, but it seems like even if 3DCart used the largest listed dimension, with would be a help. For example, I have a large item that the cart says would cost $69.00 to ship via UPS Red. If I add a small 0.1 lb item to the cart, the same Red shipping price drops to $43.00. This is bad enough for air shipments, but with the new dim weighting for grounds coming at the end of the month, I see us losing a lot of money. We are fortunate that most of our items are smaller in size, but the large items we have are pretty large.

There has to be some feasible answer to this.
