  • Product Review Approval

We would prefer not to inundate our customers with emails. The email that confirms their statement is fine. But, sending another that the review has been approved, is too much. However, we don't want to auto-approve.

Is there somewhere we can shut off the Approval email for product reviews?

I saw in another post (and it seemed kind of a hack) that you could go into the Settings -> Design -> Emails and located the email template for the Approved Reviews and edit the template so that the To could be hardcoded to a non-existent address (like ABC) or you could probably delete/clear the email template altogether.

The biggest complaint we get about the reviews is that they use the full name of the customer.

We've had people decline to review and we've had others ask us to change the name. We submitted a ticket and Support said there was nothing we could do about it which just doesn't make sense..

The reviews DO NOT use the customers' full name. There is a field that says Name and the customer fills it out. You should change it in the Review template html, to say Nick Name, or Alias, or such, and maybe in Parenthesis it should say (public). The e-mail should have an indication that it is (private) and will not get published.

The difference may be that the shop requires login for reviews.

In doing that, it takes the users name and populates the field and we have to go in and change the review manually.

          See attached pic.

Sorry for the hijak Davef.. Back to the OP's issue..

Evollution - Not a problem at all. In fact, I may need to check into that as well. And, dang, off subject, again I did not receive an email that this thread was being updated.
