  • Import Export Issue - Looking for help

    I've tried tech support chat twice and submitted a ticket but haven't found a solution yet so I'm hoping somebody reading this will have an idea or guidance.

    I'm trying to bulk edit the products through export/import and it is not bringing in the same number of products it brought out.

    To recreate:
    Export products, I get 1338 exporting
    save that file as csv
    Don't change it at all
    Then go back to admin
    Go under Import / Products
    Browse for the file you just exported that had 1338.
    Click import data
    Select insert + update
    The import status bar appears and the number of records processed is not matching the 1338.
    Before on firefox it was 1247, now on explorer it shows 1208.

    Here is the final message after importing the same file I exported.
    Import is now complete. You may close this window.

    Total records: 1208
    Inserted: 0
    Updated: 1208
    Deleted: 0
    Failed: 0

    I need to update pricing and info for black friday / cyber monday.
    Please help.

    That is really weird. You will probably need to get tech support to escalate it because I doubt the tier 1 guys will be able to diagnose it. Unfortunately they will often take a long time to escalate. You might try emailing gil or jimmy directly @3dcart.com

      All I'm getting is responses that it works on a test site for me...

      I have more than one site with 3d cart and it works on other sites for me as well, it's specific to this site.

      Very frustrating...

        Make sure to have them escalate the problem. I have had issues that have taken them over 3 weeks to take care of.

        For the most part tech support is quite helpful, you just need to reach the combination of right people.

            Turns our there is a file size limitation on 3dcart side.
            I can literally export my current product list and it's too big to import back in with no changes.

            I've been given a work around to delete columns from the export and update them a few at a time which sucks but works for now.

            I'm hoping a true fix will be figured out to handle 10mb+ csv files.

              I can confirm that there is no actual limitation for the size of the CSV files to be used for the import.

              I believe you currently have a ticket open, so we'll look into the cause of the issue and will get back to you once we find the problem.

                I'm happy to report that the admins have fixed the issue and we are now exporting, editing and importing 1000's of products at once.
