  • Narrow down cause of error msg. on "Not Completed" orders

I go through the list of "Not Completed" orders to see if I can identify any issues or patterns. Often I can see that they received an error message during their visit. Is there any way to see which error message they received?

It should list the error description right next to the timestamp:

2/19/2013 4:06:23 PM Incorrect Verification Word
    2/19/2013 4:03:27 PM Login Error

      Order Date: 2/20/2013 5:47:03 PM - 15 minutes ago.

I don't see any details, perhaps I am looking in the wrong place.

I get "newsletter" error sometimes not sure why and login error when the person is not a previous customer or on our newsletter. I'm stumped on these two.

I see what you're saying -- sometimes it's pretty clear (IE: minimum order) but sometimes they are really non-specific and I was hoping there was a way to track down more precisely what kind of problem they ran into.

          - For instance, yesterday, one mobile customer got this message three times in a row
          2/20/2013 5:02:30 PM View Cart
(When I look at "View Statistics", there's no info.)

          - Another customer just shows this message:
          2/20/2013 5:57:40 AM Order Error
(When I look at "View Statistics" for this one, it has a long list of all the pages he visited, ending with error.asp.)

Not sure what the "Order Error" is, but I do know that the View Cart error is trying to view an empty cart.

            your-store.com/message.asp?msg=X
            your-store.com/error.asp?error=X

Just replace "X" with a number (like 1, 12, 42) and you can view that error. If you can get to view the details of the visitor (either in the built-in reporting or 3rd party reporting), you can see exactly which error message they got, and just view the error.

Lastly, we use Olark live chat, and I have it set up to pop up and ask if they're having any issues any time /error.asp is visited. This usually gets the potential customer to explain what happened and you can solve it immediately.
