  • Funny(?) Story About Custom Listing Templates

Those of you who use custom templates are probably familiar with the integer problem. Namely, "listing_1.html" is "Style 2", "listing_2.html" is "Style 3", and so on. Well, I finally had to create "listing_10.html" and ran into a problem: it didn't appear in the drop down list of styles!

I double-checked that I had uploaded the template correctly and cleared my store's cache, but it still wasn't there. Except... it was. Because the file hierarchy goes: listing_1.html, listing_10.html, listing_2.html; "Style 11" was appearing between "Style 2" and "Style 3".

    I found it mildly amusing.

You can overcome this by changing "listing_1.html" to "listing_01.html", "listing_2.html" to "listing_02.html", etc. If you expect to have more than 100, use 001, 002, etc.
