Is there a way to find out what words customers are searching on the site?

  • #2
We use Google Analytics to track our site search. From what I can find, the built in search tracking only stores the last seven days of keywords.

Look in the reports section: Reports>Marketing>Search Keywords

There it is. Why did I not see that before.

ProRetail How did you set up GA to do that? I would like to do that as well.

elightbox I'm seeing this: "Warning Not enough data to create the report.". Why would that be and what can I do to change it?

cwnoah I believe this happens if it doesn't have very much use. If customers aren't using your search box there may not be the data needed to post anything.

cwnoah i believe ProRetail is correct and it only keeps 7 days worth of data (not sure what they have a date range selector!?)
If you select anything outside the last seven days you get the "Not enough Data" message.

If you are getting the message within the 7 days, then you've got other problems :)
