Does anyone have trouble with adding image captions? I enter the text, save, and the caption shows "None".

If you are on V7, you have to write the caption, click the green check box, then save.

Yes, I do that. The problem has existed for several weeks. It appears to be when multiple images used, but I'm not sure. First ticket with 3dcart was a month ago. They said that they were aware of it and working on it. Then, January 20 I was able to enter a caption on one product. On January 21, it did not work on another product. Problem:

Lost orders: We are losing orders because captions are critical. Customers could order the wrong option because the images are not identified by captions.
Google: Google & other search engines want captions in feed

Yesterday, phoned tech support and the specialist was able to verify that captions did not work. He filed ticket. Answer: They are aware of it and it'll be 2 weeks.

Not a happy camper. This impacts revenue. I like to make money. Yesterday, refunds issued.

Hmm, have you considered a page / product setup that doesn't rely so heavily on image captions?

Try using another browser, disabling plugins and blockers, and things of that nature. If captions are as critical as you say, you can import a CSV to propagate the text across all products at once.

This is not a new feature. Of course we could redesign thousands of products but if the feature was originally offered with the software, there is no excuse for it not working right now. That is one of the reasons we went with 3dCart. I will try the csv approach. That should have occurred to me. I apologize for any stress that is coming across but, in my situation, this is really critical.

Nope. CSV upload does not add captions past image 4. The Caption feature broke in the V7 apparently. Those that were entered prior to that are fine. We can't even tell from the export which image past image 4 don't have captions, obviously.

Are you referring to adding a caption while simultaneously adding a product? I see what you're talking about if that's the case. But can you not add a product, save, and then come back and add a caption - whether it be by typing it in or CSV upload?

I am referring to both situations. The csv only imports captions up to Image 4. It's always been that way, but I've always been able to add captions for more than 4 images by manually editing the product. I'd like to know if this is happening to anyone else:

              On existing or new product:
              1. Add Image 5
              2. Add caption for image 5

I have asked Tech Support to escalate the ticket. We'll see if anything happens.

Update: 3dcart will include the fix for this in the release scheduled for next week. Thank you, 3dcart.
