  • Using Reference Transactions

Trying to figure out how to use Reference Transactions -- I have everything set up -- but how can I use it? If a customer adds something to an existing order, if I open Virtual Terminal, it still asks for the credit card info -- nothing about using a token, etc. ?? Any guidance?

I don't know if that is available on 3dcart.

You can go to Auth.net, search for the original transaction (by name, or date), click the button that says "Rebillable Transactions", then you can make another charge. Step 2, would be to add a custom transaction to the order on 3dcart.

If there is another way, maybe someone else will enlighten the both of us.

Thanks but I use PayFlow Pro, which is enabled for reference transactions. 3dCart's link on the Payment settings page take me to a PayFlow Pro page to set it up, but there is nothing on how to use it.

This has been a pet peeve of mine. On my other cart I can easily add charges or partially credit right from the order page. On 3dcart, reference transactions only save the token to the customers account for when they come back to place an order. You can't even use it if from the phone orders page. You have to get their card info all over again. 3dcarts reference transactions support still has a long way to go.
