  • UPS Shipping Quotes are Way off

    I have noticed recently that our shipping costs are much higher than they should be. I compared orders from a month ago to today and they have gone up, some by $20.00. I tried to call 3D and it rings once and disconnects. Anyone else experiencing issues with shipping costs?

    Nothing has changed on our end.

    I have been forever, but I deal with it. Looks like their rates were published again in Feb 2016, and with all their surcharges they may be accurate? Have you tried to go onto UPS site and get a cost calulation to see how far off it is from their website to your stores calculations in real time? I know mine are off with USPS, but 3dc doesn't offer each of the flat rate services as a method, doesn't allow fractional dimensions so maybe the calculations would return with a medium flat rate box rate because of dimensions. I just wing it sucks, but it is what it is right now

      I've noticed the same with FedEx. I've been adding a little to the shipping for a long time, but lately it hasn't been enough. Pack Secure, I see that some of your products list dimensions and some don't. Are you sending accurate shipping dimensions to UPS? Remember, all the shippers have gone to all dimensional shipping this year instead of weight based.

        We have not changed anything in our back end and the rates are going way high. One customer's rates were almost $26 higher than what they paid last month.

        @ Toobusy: I went to UPS.com and ran a cost detail, I put residential to residential and the accurate weights and dimensions and even still it was $9.00 off. We are a commercial location, so it would be off even more than that.

        @CW: Some of our products are quite heavy so they don't need the dimensional, as it does not change the shipping cost. I am familiar with the DIM weights, but thanks for that suggestion.

        3D is supposed to be looking into this and getting back to us, but this is costing us sales unfortunately.

          I have been waiting since Thursday and still no response. 3D support is usually much better than this. I am disappointed.

              Thanks, I am aware of the charges. The problem started a month ago and 3DCart fixed it yesterday.
