  • Image path for HTML newsletters?

    Hello,
In file manager I mage a folder just for images sized for my newsletter format. What is the proper file path that I need to use to get the images to appear? I tried "https://mystore-com/3dcartstores.com/assets/images/HTMLnews/mynews.jpg" but get a broken image link.

*edit* I used the wysiwug editor to grab an image from my HTMLnews file. I'm now confused about how the image system works. I looked at the code to find this: <img alt="" src="/assets/images/HTMLnews/mynews.jpg" align="middle" border="0px">
The file path I understand. What I'm not getting is how the image is linked to the email without the domain location. Or is this just an issue because I have not pointed my domain name to my 3dcart store yet?

Along the same subject, do you store images on the 3dcart server? or put them on another server with no bandwidth charges? If you have a small list ( under 1000 ) and at best twice a month letters maybe bandwidth is not an issue?

    Thanks

That is a relative path, meaning it is relative to your domain. If you have an /assets/images folder on example.com and want to show those images on example.com, always use this relative format.

However, if you are sending out a newsletter then you need to use the full path and https: <img src="https://www.example.com/assets/images/picture.jpg">

Thanks for the reply. Turns out my issue was having a " / " in a spot that should have had " . " Doesn't help that I'm working on all this late at night with no caffeine aide either!
