  • Hiding Extra Fields

Thought I saw this before but can't find it -- how can you hide an Extra Field from displaying?

You have to go into the listing template and use CSS (display: none;) on the section you don't want to display.

elightbox -- thanks -- not quite sure how to insert CSS in the HTML file and can't find a CSS file for the extra field elements.

Birdsafe The CSS for the Extra Fields on your template is located in the layout.css which can only be accessed through FTP. However, we have a couple of ways of achieving this still. One would be to add the same Class Selector (.extrafieldsBlock in this case would work) to your default_modified and do as elightbox said. The other would be to go into your layout_0.html and comment out any sections you're wanting to hide. I would always recommend making a backup of any files you are going to be editing, just in case something goes weird or not as planned in general.

We also have the myWebmaster services should you ever be interested in more advanced edits that you don't feel comfortable making yourself over at http://mywebmaster.3dcart.com where our team can make these changes for you.

3dcart-Victor -- thanks! Commenting it out worked - now here is another question. One of the fields I'm wanting to hide is 5 -- yet this field is not listed in the listing.html file -- it lists 1 through 4 and then the next section deals with 6 onward ....

Birdsafe Awesome! Glad it worked! I checked your Listing template and compared it to my own stock template listing and the only difference seems to be that missing portion. I'm not sure if it was possibly removed in the past. While that piece is gone Field 5 shouldn't show at all. But if you're having a product that is showing field 5 for some reason, feel free to send me a Private Message with the product name/ID so I can check into it for you!

Thanks Victor -- I can copy the Field4 info and recreate the field5 again and hide it.
