  • Text stuck on gray

    The default text seems to be a gray. So I try to change all of it to black, but some parts are stuck with gray. I know this is something to do with css, but my fix has been to select the gray text and change its color to bright red, save, then go edit the html by changing rgb(255, 0, 0) to rgb(0, 0, 0)

    Is there a better way?

    Which text specifically? - e.g., Product Description? And what theme are you using?

      Yes, description. And I'm using the default theme.

        Anyone come up with a better way, or does everyone just keep the default gray?

        I've also found that once you change a paragraph to black, and then try to change the color of one word in it, the whole paragraph changes once again to gray.

          PM me a link to your store if you like, and I'll take a look.

          When you talk about changing paragraph color and all that... you're using the WYSWYG editor to do that, right?

            Usually yes, but after fixing in html view, the wyswyg will do it again.

              3DCuser Go to your default_modified.css and find the rule below:

              .item {
              font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
              font-size: 11px;
              font-weight: Normal;
              color: #585C5F; <--- This is where the grey is more than likely coming from
              }

              -change to-

              .item {
              font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
              font-size: 11px;
              font-weight: Normal;
              color: #000;
              }

              Save, clear cache, refresh. Hope this helps

                  Trying it now, but in Template Editor, the default_modified.css is found in two places:

                  templates/v32022/css where it's found 5 times, and:
                  templates/v32025/css where it's found 1 time.

                  ... and neither have ever been edited. Which one do you change?

                    The one that is your active selected template v30025. There is only 1 ".item" rule in your active css file

                      Tried that, and it still goes gray by default, even if between other characters that I made black before.

                      And you can't change it later either; if highlight the text and change the color, it stays gray.

                        Did you clear your browser cache and refresh? Your description text is black. If you change font color in the wysiwyg description you need to make sure that you are only selecting what you want to be a different color.

                        1st clear your browser cache, store cache and refresh so you see it black as it is in the css
