  • Mutiple Item Discount By Catagory

Cannot seem to find a solution to this with the 3dart Promotional Manager.

Part of my product line is hats, shirts, and other apparel and I would like to offer 10% off all apparel if the customer buys 2 more items in the category. Prices range from $6.00 up to about $35.00. I know about the Qty discount per item but I cannot see a way to do this via category. I dont want the 10% to extend to other categories. I want the 10% to apply for any combo as long as it it two items from apparel.

    Any suggestions for this?

How about an auto promo where you can just include products in certain categories?

You can do this, but not all in one promotion - you'll need 3 separate promotions. I just tested it out on my store, but we can use hats as an example:

Here, you offer 10% off hats only:
      Promotion Offers
      - Discount offered: 10
      - Is percentage
      - Include Products in these categories: hats

And here, you require a purchase of at least 3 hats in order to get the abovementioned 10% offer:
      Promotion Rules
      - Requires coupon: No
      - Order quantity: 3
      - Applies if products from these categories are in the basket: hats

As you can see, the promo requires hats, and will only discount hats, and the quantity to trigger this discount is 3 hats of any type. That's it. Now do the same thing with each of your remaining categories.

I totally overlooked the Order Quantity - I glanced and in my head was thinking dollar amount. Thank you

I tried this with only 1 category - Apparel. All the items in the subs under that category are included so I can use just that one which is great however using the above setup it gives the 10% off only on the apparel items but the promo is showing up no matter what is in the cart, even if I dont have item from Apparel as long as there are 2 items in the cart.

I put two different items in the cart, the promo showed up under the promotions but it did not pay out...

So in the end it seems the cart is disregarding the 'Applies if products from these categories are in the basket:' part
