  • Honest Feedback on Orders for the lastest version rolled out today

    I am just going to throw this out there - and I am not trying to be a jerk. It looks like our admin side just updated to the latest version. We would rather not have to see our customers face/image that takes up way too much space on the order form. We have more important items that are needed in that large white space - not a picture of our customer. Just honest feedback. Just because you are able to do this, doesn't mean it is practical.

      We would prefer to have the tracking / shipment up higher so we do not have to scroll below the fold.

      Where did the short description of products go? How can it be entered and changed?

          I agree with PackSecure - I am thinking of things we do all day - stuff that we look at and need information on when speaking to a customer. Tracking numbers, delivery date, comments. We shouldn't have to scroll down, because we have a photo of our customer. A photo isn't relevant. It is not so much about the photo, but it is about how much wasted space it takes. It should be moved.

                  The customer images from Gravatar is actually a really nice feature, and very common on most online apps, from business applications like Google Docs and Office, to social networks like Facebook, Twitter, etc. And none of these have the option to disable it.

                  It's not creepy since these customers are ok with sharing their profiles online, it helps identifying customers to filter fraudulent orders and improves service by helping relate to your customers.

                  The layout could be optimized since you shouldn't have to scroll to find more important information, but the custom profile box is very useful.

                      We are working on a few tweaks, hopefully will release early next week, that brings a link and mouse over to that image...right now it's there, but only on the name under the billing section, we'll make it so it works on both as well as tighten up some spacing so that more can be seen on smaller monitors.

                              The main reason I started this post was not for the photo - We can get use to that, no big deal. The big deal is the information we use daily - thousands of times over and over was replaced with blank, empty space. I trust that 3dCart will take our feedback and hopefully optimize the layout as they have always done in the past. Thank you for listening and responding to our concerns.
