  • How to change call for [thumbnail] to a call for product's full-size image?

What is the shortcode for a product's full-size image, not its thumbnail?

    Background
Our Wishlist images are blurry, because many of our thumbnails were created when we used only 300x300 sizing (we now use 500x500). Would take a long time to delete and recreate all product thumbnails to be the larger size, so for our Wishlist pages, which have 35% width cell for thumbnails, I prefer to pull up the full-size image (CSS will shrink it), similar to how our Product pages work.

    Current Wishlist code is:

    HTML Code:
    <a href="product.asp?itemid=[ITEM_CATALOGID]"><img src="thumbnail.asp?file=[THUMBNAIL]&maxx=500&maxy=500" /></a>
    Product page code is:

    HTML Code:
    <a href="[image1]" class="[3dzoom_class]" id="listing_main_image_link"><img itemprop="image" src="thumbnail.asp?file=[image1]&maxx=[image_medium_w]&maxy=0" align="middle" id="large" name="large" alt="[name]" /></a>
Wouldn't it be nice if simply changing [THUMBNAIL] to [image1] worked on the Wishlist page, but it doesn't, obviously.

So back to my original question: what is the shortcode for a product's image? In terms of our file structure, [THUMBNAIL] brings up the following:

    HTML Code:
    <img src="thumbnail.asp?file=assets/images/beautyshots/thumbnails/A015-2125CD-RG_thumbnail.jpg&amp;maxx=500&amp;maxy=500">
I want the same structure EXCEPT:
    • no "thumbnails" directory
    • no "_thumbnail" before the ".jpg"

Is there a shortcode for that?

    Thanks!

Here is a link to the template guide. https://core.3dcart.com

I browsed through it real quick and it does not look like [image1] can be use on the wishlist html. Have you attempted to load the thumbnail images without thumbnail.asp?

    HTML Code:
      <a href="product.asp?itemid=[ITEM_CATALOGID]"><img src="[THUMBNAIL]" /></a>
You could then see how it looks without scaling the images up. They may be smaller, but might look better at the resolution you currently have.

On a side note, If all your product images are in the same directory, there is a really easy way to batch resize, and rename them with Adobe photoshop / bridge.

The change to simply [THUMBNAIL] doesn't seem to have an effect.

There are a few reasons I want the better resolution images (and the large thumbnails), one of which is the ease of right-click copy-paste by a sales person to use within the text messages that some clients have requested as their preferred mode of contact. The current images (the ones for which thumbnails were created at the old sizing) look a bit blurred even when shrunk within a text. (Higher end product, so such details matter.) Sounds like batch re-creating all thumbnails might be the way I need to go; I'll have to see if such can add the "_thumbnail" that 3dcart adds to the file name when the platform creates thumbnails. Thank you for the heads-up to look at Bridge: I have the full Adobe Suite of programs but hardly ever use Bridge and forget about its capabilities.

Pixel Relish I've taken a screen shot of the settings I use when I need to update thumbnail images. This is the batch rename feature in bridge.
