  • Google Feed-500 item limit?

Did I miss the memo from Google? All merchants are being limited to 500 products in Google Merchant Center. One IS ALLOWED to request that their feed limit be increased. We just did and I'll let you know what happens.

I just LOVE it when companies do this right before Christmas.
From our GMC error feed "back":

I would like to request a product feed limit increase please, how do i do this? - Google Merchant Center Help

    feeds registered after 11/09
    have a limit of 50,000 items;

    feeds registered after 11/22
have a limit of 500 items.

It looks like there may be "issues" with their new policy and errors are being received when purportedly there should be none

      email from Google

This reply to our request came really fast:

      Hello,

      Thank you for your email.

Per your request, we've increased the item limit of your data feed. You'll
now be able to upload additional listings to your account using the
      'g1file002.txt' data feed.

Please reply to this email if you have any additional questions or
      concerns.

      Yours sincerely,

      Pavni

New feeds are being limited for both existing users and new users. If you have an established feed there is no limit.

          David,

Do you have a "scheduled" feed?

I usually upload every couple days, why?

Any feed file name that was established before the limits is not affected. Google does not care what the file name is that you use as long as you use an established feed file name on Google's side.
