• Does it create an error to have " " in meta tags?

Hi all,

I have a product that has dimensions in inches ("). So, I go to the product, click the Meta Tags tab, and start entering the meta information.

Example:
Title: 21" Product A
Description: 21" Product A is the best quality

It then populates the source code as:

<meta property="og:title" content="21" Product A">
<META NAME="DESCRIPTION" CONTENT="21" Product A is the best quality">

My question is, does Google (or other search engines) recognize that the inches sign (") in the meta description and title are part of the whole description/title, and that it's not there to close the meta tag?

Obviously I want the search engines to see that it's 21" Product A, and no cut it off at 21 without going further...

Thanks in advance!
James

You should replace the " character with this:
Code:
"

This will avoid these types of problems.

I think the better practice would be to refrain from using quotes altogether and instead actually use the word inches.
