• How to install Adwords Conversion Tag so we can start tracking conversions.

Ok i have tried this 3 times now and have tried to have 3dcart chat help me, they were pretty useless as they could not point me in the correct direction and kept trying to tell me to put it on the wrong HTML file. I had google helping me, but I need to set it up so that it uses the dynamic order totals that way we know how much each click converts for revenue wise.

has anyone done this and have a second to explain what we need to change on the google script?

go to Settings > Design > Titles & Content. Select Checkout 4
Put the code below in the footer section.

You can get your own unique code from Google Adwords > Tools > Conversions. Create a new conversion action then click on it to see the conversion code.

Replace XXXXXXX and YYYYYY in two locations with your unique info (don't overwrite / or spaces) .

    Code:

Elightbox, thank you so much for sharing this "how to" on adding the adwords conversion tag and thank you Forcedfabllc for asking. This post is very helpful not only to myself but I am sure to many other 3dcart members as well. Blessings to you both.

I just tried that and get an error. here is a screen shot. http://snag.gy/xnE1Z.jpg Do I need to show the value of the order on the checkout 4 pag to get the script to read that Subtotal tag?

I just tested our code and it is good. There are two minor errors (blue tag) one about currency symbol and one about putting the code before the
tag. Blue tags should be OK. Red is not.

Try copying the code directly from Adwords. Just change the Value 1.00 with [ordersubtotal]
Adwords > Tools > Conversions. Create a new conversion action then click on it to see the conversion code.
Make sure you do not overwrite any spaces, /s, or commas

Does your thank you page produce a order total for the customer on it?

I have an appointment with a google tech to help me get this working around 7pm. So I will let you know how it goes. They are going to change something in the adwords code for us.

eightbox , your code was correct. I have figured this out. I feel like a Moron after being on with google code implementation for 30 seconds. ahaha.

I had the code entered in two places with one place having the incorrect code setup.

                  I had its under Settings>Design>Themes&Style>checkout 4.html and Settings>Design>Titles&Content>Checkout 4>Footer

I used the setup eightbox provided and deleted them both and stuck it in the footer box in titles and content. used tag manager to verify it and shows a test orders conversion value correctly.

                  Thank you for your help!

Hi all. I've had a weird thing with Adwords conversion tracking. As of December 13th, it stopped tracking. And when I delete it and re-add it, it adds an extra CDATA line and won't track conversions. Any ideas?

I am using tag manager for adwords conversions.

                          The variables are:

                          Conversion ID: XXXXXXXX
                          Conversion Label: XXXXXXX
                          Conversion Value: [ordersubtotal]
                          Order ID: [invoice-number]
                          Currency Code: "USD"

I think the conversion value is correct is the order ID?????
