You need to do this manually for each product/image. No dynamic code is available yet.

Most of the pinning is done by their "Pin it" toolbar button

      Try this

We got this to work on our product pages with a little finessing. You will need to be comfortable modifying your scripts, you need to find the file that controls your product page, for us this is listing_1.html. We added this just after the product_social-bookmarking tag. <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.yourdomainhere.com%2Fproduct .asp?itemid=[catalogid]&media=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.yourdomainhere.com%2F[image1]" class="pin-it-button" count-layout="none">Pin It</a>
      <script type="text/javascript" src="http://assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>

It is working great for us. I have a pinterest account and I was able to pin the photos without issue. Hope that helps!

An easier way is to add this to your Social Bookmarking snippet in the apporpriate place same as the other entries there.

          <a class="addthis_button_pinterest"
          pi:pinit:media="http://www.yoursite.com/[image1]"
          pi:pinit:layout="horizontal"></a>

          Change yoursite.com :)

Thx for the code but it does not work 100%, i check it on your site and it is not working on your site also. it will let you pin but if you log into your pintrest and click on the pin it does not link back to the product. "product .asp?itemid" this part of the code is not working.

i made a small change to the code by adding a disctiption but i could not get it to work 100% so i went back to using the "add this" buttons. and adding the pintrest to the "add this" buttons.

            Thank You

If you use canonical names for your items you can use the following:
                Code:
                <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=http://www.yourdomain.com/[filename]&media=http://www.yourdomain.com/[image1]" class="pin-it-button" count-layout="none">Pin It</a>
                <script type="text/javascript" src="http://assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>
It does link back to your site

Also, if you want the price and the description shown on the pin you can use this:
                  Code:
                  <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=http://www.yourdomain.com/[filename]&media=http://www.yourdomain.com/[image1]&description=[price][description]" class="pin-it-button" count-layout="none">Pin It</a>
                  <script type="text/javascript" src="http://assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>

                    Got It done No problem

What I have done was add a Pinit Button to the Image area. (testing Locations) and I have left the Pinterest in the Custom Social Bar
above and below my products Information (tesing). What is nice about this Pinit button is it Auto Selects Main Image - Auto Titles and AutoSets URL (which is nice to have automated) this is better than the Pinterest in the social bar because your customers don't have to type in anything (unless they want to add to description). It does not interfere with your call to action (add to cart) because it opens in a new tab or window

Notice my custom Social Bar on product pages. I can set what I want and who I want posted with Share counts. I think This is a great feature to have visible.

The Supplied 3dcart social plugin lacks this so I am testing locations and what looks good. I will decide on one location and shut off 3dcart plugin in the admin panel. I also can make a Slider on the side of the site or just toss it in a Side box of the site so then it is on all pages.

I have a few customers using my instal already with 3dcart and they are happy. I only set product pages on here but Go look at these product pages for examples. Vogtland Suspension | Adjustable Coilover Kits | Lowering Springs

                    Any questions PM me

                    Thanks.

I found the problem i was having, You have to be using Custom File Names other wise the link back to the product from pintrest will only go to your domain and not to the product.

                      thx for the hlep

FYI: you dont have to mod any product files you can just place it in the Social Bookmarking advanced tab

I tried it and it takes me to the domain. What do you mean "custom file names"?

Custom File Name : is from the Meta Tags tab from the product.
As I have shown in my previous post it will be the [filename]
