  • UPS World Ship-file from UPS to 3D Cart

We are having issues figuring out the file that gets imported from World Ship to 3D Cart that kicks off the marking of the order to shipped and emails the customer their tracking information.

What mapping needs to be set up in World Ship to make this happen? There are only a few columns in the "sample file" provided, so it's confusing because they do not match the column names in World Ship and there is no guide that spells out which columns are needed on this file.

Do we reuse the import file mapping? (but that has so much more information)

If anyone can help or send me what the mappings are or even just point me in the right direction - it would be SO appreciated!!

Sorry I can't help you with the UPS mapping but maybe a 3rd party system would help. We've used both shipstation and shipworks to run our shipping through. While both work great, shipstation is more user friendly and they've just added 3d Cart to their list (so if you run into any problems, I'm sure Byron and the rest of the team there will help).

Check em out at ShipStation - Powerful shipping, simplified. eBay, Amazon, Buy.com, Magento, Volusion shipping.

If you use this link, you should get a free 30 day trial (so you can find out if it will work for you without spending any $$$).

Does shipstation post back tracking numbers and update order status to shipped in 3dcart?

        Stasmps.com and QB

Stamps.com integrates with QB and you simply click and print - also great since fyi for everyone fedex and UPS do not do a detailed address verification so you may be hit with address correction fees of $11.00 per shipment. What we do with new customers is to verify with stamps.com prior to shipping with UPS. UPS and fed ex only go down to street level - not apt. numbers, etc. so if a customer forgets to enter an apt. number, suite number, etc. you'll get dinged with an address correction fee - UPS worldship will even say the address is valid when in fact it is not. UPS recently changed their software that NOW creates this issue - great money making idea for them.

@1000jewels Thanks for the stampstation rec. We may check that out!

@best-honey Thanks for the warning about the address correction fee! That's a pretty good money maker for them. We are just starting to get going so we haven't hit that yet, but now we'll know to look out for it. That's a good idea to verify the address before going through UPS WorldShip to avoid that. Their billing is pretty incoherent, so we were already planning to be pretty meticulous about what they charge us.

We did end up getting it to work, but it was a major PITA!
