  • Google PLA Product Ratings

Has anyone looked into how to submit ratings to your Adwords PLA campaign? This is a new program that displays your product ratings on a search. Google says the feed needs to be in an XML format. Wondered if anyone at 3dCart -- or outside -- has worked on this as an add-on.

For our feeds we use a new company and they give you a custom field where you can combine the review count along with the average review - takes 2 seconds to set up and the feed is automatically submitted in XML. We used to use a company called GoDataFeed but they recently went through an upgrade and the whole system got messed up so we switched. Attached is screen shot of the combination that we use to get ratings into out XML feed.

thanks candyman3597 -- looks like you use DataFeedWatch - so do I - okay - so how does Google then know than your "custom label 4" are plugged in as reviews? I've set mine up just as you have nd we'll see, but I'm not sure how that field is mapped to Google.

just upload your feed and then look in your merchant center you will see the lets say 12 reviews at say 4.5 starts shown as 12-4.5 under the section data you provide.

Yes, that's all well and good, but how does Google know that your "custom label 4 represents review data and how then does it apply those stars and numbers to the actual listings on a Google Search page? While that field is uploaded with my feed, there is no information under the Product Reviews section in the Merchant Center. Plus I'm not sure that those two fields -- average review and number of reviews -- meet the requirements as laid out by Google.

Do you have a search engine page that you can take a screen shot of your products showing in the Shopping box at the top that show the stars?

            Thanks

              from Google Help:
              custom_label_0–4: Definition

Custom labels, custom_label_0 through custom_label_4, allow you to create specific filters to use in your Shopping campaigns. Use these filters for reporting and bidding on groups of products. The information you include in this attribute won’t be shown to users.
