  • eBay module & active content

Does anyone know if the eBay module is compliant with eBay's active content policy? We have about 150 listings and all of them do not comply. I think the problem with our listings is the photos. When you preview the listing free of active content the clicking the thumbnails no longer changes the larger image above. Aside from that the listings look fine.

Does anyone know if the template has been changed to comply with the no active content policy?

I was wondering the same thing -- but I think in my case the issue is not the images -- as only a handful of my listings are showing active content -- but I think it's the product reviews that are included in the code that is sent.

3dCart, I think, should be addressing this issue in the Ebay module.

It looks like that type of content will only be allowed for another month or so. It's being phased out after June: http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformat...e-content.html

The ebay template has been updated and is part of the latest release which is rolling out this month.
I am attaching them here, if you drop them in your folder (take the one from common or common-html5 depending on the theme you are using). The new template doesn't have any javascript, so the images just display in blocks below the description, instead of being able to be switched by clicking which required javascript.

GonzaloGil -- I keep getting warnings from Ebay about this issue -- support tells me it is fixed, but yet I still get warnings and to your point, my images show on my listings and you can click to change them:

The template doesn't have any javascript, but, the template doesn't look like the item you linked to. I have a feeling that the issue is that when you REPOST an item, eBay simply changes the date, and posts the same item description etc. You might need to re-list the item from within 3dcart for it to have the new template.

I always relist the items from within 3dcart -- and I have 22 items that are "in violation" that were all created from within 3dCart. Now, some of them were created back as far as January of this year, but some are as recent as August.

I would say, when one of these listings end, try re-posting it from scratch, not relist it. Try with just one of them to see, but i am pretty sure that's the issue as when relising ebay copies all the listing data from the old to the new listing, so the new template that changed wouldnt be applied.

I stand corrected on the number -- I only have 8 items with JS violations -- all rather old. But I do have 22 in violation for "containing email addresses" -- I'm guessing this is because 3dCart includes review information that may have email addresses in them in some way.
