Posting Rules
This forum was created to help 3dcart users share tips on getting the best out of the service, offer knowledge and experiences about e-commerce in general, and to promote a positive environment in which our merchants can request/dispense advice regarding best practices.

The forum was not created for 3dcart users to submit requests for customer support. Any support related thread will be removed and a support ticket will be placed on your behalf. If you have technical difficulties please visit

The 3dcart forum is also not intended to be a medium in which to express dissatisfaction about 3dcart’s service, policies or its management and staff. Threads of this nature will also be removed from the forum. If a support issue with your 3dcart store was not resolved in a satisfactory manner; or if you feel that a particular 3dcart offering/policy is not to your liking, please let us know by emailing so we can address your concerns directly.

Again, our purpose is to cultivate a positive learning environment for our merchants rather than platform in which to express grievances.

Very Important Rules:
• Never give away your store administration login/password in this forum.

Should you need technical help, please let 3dcart staff help.
Also, please be aware that 3dcart staff will NEVER need to ask for your 3dcart related passwords.

General Rules:
• While debate and discussion are acceptable, we will never tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.
• Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) nonsensical posts, or similar postings.
• Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.
• Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.
• We also do not allow posts that are sexual in nature.
• Please wait at least 24 hours before bumping posts.
• Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.
• Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.
• We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
• We also reserve the right to remove postings which are in violation of our specified posting rules
• Also, while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently, we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.

Mailchimp. Check your subscriber count

  • Mailchimp. Check your subscriber count

    on May 5th and 6th, 3dcart added 26,000 subscribers to my Mailchimp list, which of course kicked us to a higher tier. Now I am trying to figure out how to delete these. Mailchimp has no bulk delete feature, only a bulk unsubscribe, which is not the same.

    I did not touch the modules on either of these days or the few days before. This must have been related to an upgrade or something. I don't know what the criteria was for adding these people.

    There seems to be a lot of ways to delete contacts:

    however, the plugin does pretty much Synchronize your store's customer data, to Mailchimp, so, if you do reset it, and re-enable the plugin, the same subscribers would make it back in.

    Are you trying to only send your most recent customers over to mail chimp?

      What I really would like is to only send the ecommerce data for the people on the mailing list at MailChimp, I see that that is probably not possible.
      In the alternate, I would just like to mimic the old module, where I am ONLY adding new mailing list subscribers. Is this possible?

      Deleting is not easy at mailchimp. You really have to delete the whole list, OR all the subscribers in the list., They do not have a SELECTIVE bulk delete without checking the box next to each subscriber to delete, and then only 100 at a time. They have a bulk unsubscribe, but that puts limitations on customers re-subscribing.

      I will download a back up, delete the subscribers from the list, then import the ones I want to keep, filtering on date.

        The same thing happened to us on May 31st. My one list jumped from 1800 to over 4000 subscribers. Many of the subscribers where already deleted from other lists.

        I had to go to the last newsletter and download those subscribers. I then had to create a new list from those people, find out who unsubscribe, delete those. I had to delete the previous list. Now I have a clean list but there is no previous data on those in the list.

        This is just a way to get people to to go to the next level of service. I have received no response from them.

          Yea, the Cart Abandonment and follow up automated email features in Mail Chimp look great, however it seems that the integration to use these features sends your whole customer list over, which is ridiculous. Why not only send new transactions that would need followup e-mails?

            Same thing happened to me - but while resyncing - it used up a huge amount of bandwidth. I tried reporting it to support - but with no luck. If you do switch on Mailchimp v2 you need to be aware of this as it almost pushed me into the next pricing band. I was not happy to say the least.
